My Life in Bridgeton
by Yancy
September 4,2007, was an important day! On that day, I arrived in the United States. I traveled to Bridgeton by car. I came with my mom and brother. We were scared! We didn’t know anyone in Bridgeton and We had to find a place to live. Since that time, I have seen and done a lot. I have also learned many new things.
At first, I didn’t like Bridgeton. It was very different from Mexico city, my hometown. It seen quieter and not very interesting.I felt homesick for my friends in Mexico city. Since then, I have become acquainted with Mexico and I like it much better. Now I think that Bridgeton and the area around it are almost as exciting as Mexico.
When I arrived, I already knew a lot of English, but I still need some practice. I have become very fluent and my accent is much better now. It hasn’t been easy because English is a difficult language. Nevertheless, I am proud of my English now.
I plan to stay in Bridgeton until I graduate from college. Then I plan to go back to Mexico City. We haven’t really talked about the future now I am enjoying the present.
