Life in Bridgeton
By Jesus
Even though I was born in Bridgeton, my parents came from Mexico. My parents drove from Mexico to the United States. It took my parents one week to get to Bridgeton.
At first, they didn’t like the United States. It was very different than Mexico, their hometown. It seem strange and uninteresting. My parents felt homesick for Mexico. Since then, my parents have become acquainted with Bridgeton and like it much better. My parents visited many places in Bridgeton but are not able to speak English. They keep their old ways. They love all the interesting accents. Now my parents think that Bridgeton and the area around it are almost exciting as Mexico.
When my parent’s arrived, I was born. Since then, I have grown. It hasn’t been easy because it took long for me to grow. I have met many people as I grew and talked to them. One Mexican friend invites me to his house often. Last November, I celebrated Thanksgiving with my family and friends.
My parents plan to stay in Bridgeton but they plan to go visit Mexico. My parents and I are enjoying the present.
